Scientific Problem Solving SPS is derived from the IPS and supported by the AFD processes, and uses a lot of the same tool. The main applications of the Ideation process for solving scientific problems are:
Auxiliary applications are:
DISCOVERING NEW EFFECTS & PHENOMENA
This module is based on the best scientific practices in discovering new phenomena exercised over the centuries. This valuable experience has been collected and organized within I-TRIZ theory of scientific systems' evolution and served as a foundation for the development of specific tools including Operators for discovering new phenomena. Utilization of these Operators will help you predict and discover new and often unexpected effects.
CREATE SCIENTIFIC HYPOTHESIS
The purpose of this module is to support both formal logic process and creative processes of drawing analogies targeting building new scientific hypotheses or explanations for certain phenomena. The module is based on I-TRIZ scientific problem solving and will help you generate a set of reasonable ideas related to the problem at hand.
IMPROVMENT /FURTHER DEVELOPMENT OF SCIENTIFIC HYPOTHESIS
The purpose of this module is to enhance any scientific hypothesis or theory (both long existing and/or a brand new one) based on Patterns of scientific systems' evolution and Operators for solving scientific problems developed within I-TRIZ application for R&D activities. Utilization of this module will allow to unveil the deficiencies in the theory or hypothesis at hand and find the way to improve it.
VERIFICATION OF SIENTIFIC HYPOTHESIS
The purpose of this module is to help to unveil possible mistakes, drawbacks of other problems associated with obtained hypothesis, test it for compliance with other relevant hypotheses and scientific ideas and select the ones that should be further explored. The module will save you time that could be wasted on working in wrong direction.
DEVELOP EXPERIMENTS AND MEASUREMENT SYSTEM
This module is based on application of general Patterns of technological evolution and technological problem solving methods and tools developed within I-TRIZ, to the systems of measurement, control and detection. It will support your activities and save time and effort in two interrelated areas: a) generation of ideas for effective and elegant experiments allowing to confirm or reject the hypothesis at hand; b) develop effective equipment for the experiments.
DEVELOP APPLICATIONS FOR PHENOMENON
This module is based on Patterns of emergence and evolution of new products and their markets and includes a set of Operators for inventing new possible applications for various phenomena. Utilization of this module will allow to quickly introduce new and often non-obvious applications for both existing and newly discovered phenomena to the market.
SYSTEM STUDY AND ANALASIS
This module is based on the methods of expeditious learning developed within I-TRIZ approach via utilization of specific analytical tools including evolutionary frames. The module will help quickly assess new areas of knowledge, theories, etc. While working with the module, you will be able to document obtain knowledge in the form of special cause-effect diagrams especially convenient for organizing knowledge and presenting it to others in the most precise and convincing way. The module will be especially helpful for students (from BS to PH.D.) and other people that have recently accepted a new job and need to quickly assess required knowledge.
GROUP CREATIVITY FACILITATION
A team can very productive or absolutely unsuccessful in obtaining creative results depending on work sessions organization and facilitation quality. This module is based on Ideation Brainstorming technique utilizing various psychological, analytical and knowledge based tools targeting effective support and enhancement of the creative team work.
CREATIVITY GYM
This module is base on the methods of Enhancement of Creative Imagination developed with I-TRIZ frame and includes a set of exercises helping an individual to enhance his/her ability to handle creative situations via reducing psychological inertia, overcoming barriers and tunnel vision, etc. The module can be use in two modes: a) in the process of solving a difficult problem as a creative intermission: b) short regular sessions (for example, 15 minutes daily can produce amazing results after several months of training). The module can be also very useful in helping your own children, young relatives and friends to become more creative and especially in conserving creative capabilities that children typically possess and usually lose when becoming adults.
